Eternal Retribution: News

News
Welcome to Eternal Retribution
Eternal Retribution is a Horde guild on Draka server. The guild was founded in 2001 in Everquest on the Tunare Server as a successor to Courageous Few. The original intent was to create a guild with a dedicated, but casual raid environment. While the guild started out quite small (our first raid was a reets/juggs run in Sebilis), and always took pride in doing "more with less", we nevertheless grew up to be one of the top progression guilds on Tunare. We finally ended with Demiplane of Blood before our time was done in Norrath. In March of 2007 we officially migrated to World of Warcraft. Although a number of us had been playing WoW on other servers, most of us made a wholesale move to Draka, either transferring characters or leveling new ones.

OUR FOCUS

We are largely a "casual raid" guild. What this means is that raid attendance is not mandatory and our loot system circumvents point hoarding. However, we are committed to progression and performance benchmarks are expected. We generally raid 2-3 nights out of the week with Tue/Thu being our usual 25-man nights. We do some guild PvP from time to time, but it is largely informal. That being said, we do have a handful of very dedicated PvP'ers.

OUR MEMBERSHIP

A large part of our guild is still represented by former EQ players, but there are a number of new friends and family who have joined us. It is often cited that we are a "family guild", which does not mean we're G-rated (some nights we're not even close), but we do value personality, commitment, and maturity over any other quality and we feel that it is an integral part of why we have survived so long.

OUR ORGANIZATION

General policy decisions are decided by officer quorum. Official raids may be lead by officers and are expected to abide by our loot distribution, DKP, and raid selection policies. We also have class ambassadors who are elected/appointed to act as class coordinators, providing information on their class, evaluating and assisting other members of the class who are struggling, and acting as a central point of contact for class matters.

Guild Leader: Keeneyes
Officers: Gylan, Shyzyhra, Morvien, Florynce, Bukthan, and Sindd
Class Ambassadors: Selidar (Death Knights), Traak, Quil (Druids), Keeneyes (Hunters), Borialis & Shyzyhra (Mages), Morvien and Valsarius (Paladin), Silvanara (Priests), Gylan (Rogues), ??? (Shaman), Ariaxx (Warlocks), and Rakash (Warriors)

Why it's great to be in ER.
Shyzyhra
Well, it's that time again. I'd like to take this chance to show all our prospective applicants what they're missing by not being in ER.

In response to Rizen's rogue changes post Gylan Presents: Real Men of Genius
(real men of genius)

Today we salute you, Mr. QQ Ret Paladin.
(Mr. QQ Ret Paladin)

Any paladin can rock the charts, but it takes real talent to get close to a rogue.
Topping the charts, you tirelessly roll your forehead across that keyboard.
(Keep on rollin')

Cooldown management? You don't need stinking timers.
(Management?)

And even though you've never had to watch the screen, you bag the occasional top-spot.
(Impressive skills!)

So crack open an ice-cold glass of paladin tears, QQ Ret Paladin, because every raid you go to, we know you are carrying the rogues.
(Mr. QQ Ret Paladin)

*sips his glass of Paladin's tears*

We calculate the best strategies to the letter.

Due to the above, we die. A lot.

No, really. Our skill at dying is unmatched.

Honest.

Sometimes, though, we manage to win!

ER has many thought provoking discussions.

Is the RNG busted for you? It's busted for us. You'll feel right at home if you join us.

We have Pete.

We have Tanner.

And when Tanner isn't here, Sean substitutes:

We have Josh.

We have Rhett.

We have Gary.

And we have Eric.

Our guildchat is intelligent and mature.

We're friendly, and we always help each other.

We've all seen the most important movie on Earth.

We can make sexual innuendo out of anything. And I mean anything.

We welcome deviants.

We recognize that good microphones are for the weak.

Our healers are unmatched.

We respect our hunters.

No, really. Even when they're crazy.

Our mages mean business.

We know that bacon is a necessary staple. Even for the undead.

We recognize the importance of ego-stroking.

We're intelligent and analytical.

Through careful meditation, we've learned the meaning of patience.

And we know that music, even bagpipes, is an important facet of good raiding.

If that isn't enough to sell you, we don't want you anyway

Why I love this guild:
Shyzyhra

Thanks to the LFG tool, it has come to my attention that the majority of the people who play wow... can't play.

Which is why I'm happy everyday that I'm a member of this wonderful guild. Eternal Retribution is a what we call a melting pot guild. We have people from all walks of life and vocations, and we *definitely* know how to play.

ER has Dancing Druids:

And *cough* Flaming Paladins:

Disgruntled Mages:

Wannabe Mages:

Nerds:

Musicians:

Ex-Hench-Clerics:

And a large flock of bad romance writers:

What's important to remember, though, is that we always get along. I mean always.

We're fans of better living through chemicals:

We like conversation:

We love good competition:

(It's important to remember that Tiff actually *can* lose randoms)

We only delay raids for the most important strategizing:

We're not afraid to embrace our inner-gnome:

And most importantly, we vanquish raid bosses left and right with minimal losses.
