Our Story

Twenty-Five Years. Three Worlds. One Guild.

Eternal Retribution was founded in 2001 as a successor to Courageous Few, built on a simple idea: a dedicated but casual raid environment where a tight-knit group could accomplish great things together. We always took pride in doing more with less — and that spirit has carried us across three games and two and a half decades.

The Beginning — Norrath

Founded in 2001 as a successor to Courageous Few, Eternal Retribution set out to build something different: a guild with a dedicated but casual raid environment where players could push progression without sacrificing real life. We started small — our first raid was a Reets and Juggs run in Sebilis — but what we lacked in numbers we made up for in determination.

Over the years, that determination paid off. We grew into one of the top progression guilds on the Tunare server, steadily working through EverQuest's most challenging content. We always took pride in doing more with less, and our roster reflected that ethos: quality over quantity, every time.

Our time in Norrath ended with the Demiplane of Blood, a fitting capstone to six years of adventure. In March of 2007, Eternal Retribution officially migrated to World of Warcraft.

2007 – 2015World of WarcraftDraka Server (Horde)

A New World — Azeroth

Although a number of us had already been playing WoW on various servers, March 2007 marked our wholesale move to Draka — most members either transferred existing characters or leveled fresh ones to make the jump together.

The guild steadily grew on Draka, regularly running 10- and 25-man content through heroic and mythic tiers. The same ethos that defined our EverQuest years carried over: a dedicated core, a casual atmosphere, and a drive to see the hardest content the game had to offer.

As we pushed into the later raid tiers of Warlords of Draenor, a declining Horde population on Draka made recruitment increasingly difficult. We began looking at other options.

Crossing Factions — Proudmoore

After weighing our options, the guild made the decision to switch factions and move to Proudmoore — one of the most active Alliance servers in the game. It was a significant change, but the guild's identity remained intact.

Proudmoore gave us the recruitment pool we needed to keep raiding at a high level, and the guild has continued running current content through each expansion since.

Coming Home — EverQuest Legends

EverQuest Legends brought many of us back to where it all started. On the Rivervale server, a core group of longtime members reunited to explore a reimagined Norrath together.

EverQuest Legends is a more casual experience than the original game, designed primarily around solo and small-group content — though it supports groups of up to four and raids of up to eight players. We have a small core of regulars, along with a number of members who pop in and out when life allows.

It's a fitting return: the same guild, the same spirit, and the same world where it all began.

The story isn't over.

We're still here, still raiding, still adventuring — across two worlds at once.
